The EDR.2 vacuum brazed rescue blade features a trench type segment with air holes to help keep the segment cool. Its also features electroplated silicon carbides on the steel body designed for grinding the edge after cutting. This blade is predominantly used by fire services but has now become standard with some civil engineers. It lends itself to cutting marble, slate and other hard materials such as porcelain. It is also designed to cut ductile iron, steel bars and plastics.
